Frugal Accomplishments

Five Frugal Things

1. New shirts (finally)

JC Penney’s is having a 50% off sale this week on most of their women’s tops, so I was pleased to find two shirts that I actually liked (rarity for me) and can be used for any upcoming church/dates/random events:)

2. At home date night

We decided to stay home for one of our date nights this week (when the kids are away, we tend to go out and try new restaurants) and had frozen pizza and delicious ice cream instead. **I actually said as I was pulling the pizza out of the oven, “This pizza saved us $30!”

3. Kroger deals

So many deals this week! Dawn soap for $1.79, riced cauliflower for $1.79, Beanitos for $1.89, low carb ice cream for $2.99, Chips Ahoy cookies for $.99, chopped walnuts for $2, and Ritz crackers for $.99.  **Kroger is really impressing me with all of their wonderful sales this summer.

4. Blueberries

The blueberries are finally starting to ripen on our bush, so I have been enjoying handfuls every couple of days.  This saves me from having to buy them in the store….berries are crazy expensive fresh!

5.  Caught mistakes on receipt

After checking out at Kroger, I noticed that none of my digital coupons had went through during my transaction, so I had to head back into the store to get that fixed ($20 is nothing to sneeze at).  **Thankfully, a veteran cashier fixed the problem in just a couple of minutes because my ice cream was melting fast!

What did you do to save money this week??
