2022 Goals

2022 Goal Updates (Week 2)

Walk 500 miles this year (20 down and 480 to go)

This week I did three Bodyfit by Amy videos on Youtube (its free!) and walked 4 miles at a March for Life Event in Birmingham (There were so many hills!!! My ankles and thighs are killing me. Note to self: cross-train more!)

Go on 12 hikes

Teach the kids to cook

Ben cooked last time, so I am probably going to have Emma pick out some recipes to try this week.

Read 100 books (up to 4)

At Home in the World is a reread for me. It’s one of my favorite travel memoirs. It follows Tsh Oxenreider as she and her husband take their kids on a trip around the world. She is a wonderful Christian writer and is very down to earth. Love it!

Red Riding Hood by [Sarah Blakley-Cartwright, David Leslie Johnson, Catherine Hardwicke]

Emma found this book at the thrift store and we both enjoyed it. It is a retelling of Red Riding Hood and I thought it was very well done. You do not find out until the very last chapter who the wolf really was. Another brilliant twist is that the last chapter has to be downloaded online so the suspense keeps building until you look it up. It’s basically the ultimate cliff hanger.

Visit 12 museums or artistic events

Attend adoration or a daily mass each week

I attended two daily masses this week, but did not make it to an adoration.

Take my kids on an outing by themselves each month

I took Emma to the Birmingham March for Life with a couple of her friends. It was a really nice day, and we had a free breakfast & lunch thrown in too.

Buy more used things

I picked up a used copy of a book for a homeschool book club I am in for $3.

Do more embroidery projects

I am almost done with this beauty. I think I may do a bumble bee scene next. Too many options!
