2021 Goals

2021 Goal Updates (Week 49)

Walk at least 500 miles this year (487 miles walked and 13 left to go)

I’ve mostly been doing BodyFit by Amy videos on Youtube because Emma is still recovering from a challenging wisdom tooth surgery and then got hit with a cold on the sixth day so I didn’t want to leave her to go walking. I told her it has to get better from here….**Bodyfit by Amy has been posting Holiday HIIT workouts that have been really fun and different, so try them out if you are needing a little boost for the holidays.

Read more classic and nonfiction books

The Island of Dr. Moreau

Well I hated The Island of Doctor Moreau. I made it about a halfway through the book and just stopped. Mega depressing and very disturbing.

Keep a gratitude journal

I am very grateful that Emma is finally starting to feel better after her wisdom teeth removal surgery. Apparently she does not react well to anesthesia or pain medicines, so we had a scary few days while her system was trying to recover.

Ben had a fun time competing at his very first robotics competition. Some of those teams had really amazing robots and we learned a lot for next year.

Try new foods and recipes

We got another box of Korean snack foods in the mail. There have been some hits and misses. The chocolates from Russia (apparently they import a lot of Russian candies) have been interesting. One had bits of popcorn and caramel in a bar of chocolate and then another had chunks of diced dried fruit scattered in another one. The most bizarre thing was a bag of chips that are flavored with lobster and Cajun seasoning. It definitely tastes fishy!

Do more things as a family

We attended our local Christmas parade and boy was it cold! **I was smart. I parked where I could see the parade and watched from my nice warm car with my equally smart mom. My kids were crazy and sat on the curb…..

Buy more used items

I picked up a few books from the library’s used book room. This is the best place to find cheap books. Like they were only $1 each! I got the Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society, A Secret History, and The Distant Hours. All awesome books.

Take each child on a monthly outing by themselves

We mostly did things together as a family this month, but hopefully next month we will get back to more one on one outings.

Finish my 2019 NaNoWriMo novel

<Ongoing>If I can get my laptop repaired quickly, I plan on participating in NaNoWriMo 2021 and finish up my 2019 novel finally. A computer is holding my novel hostage…sounds like a good plot to me.

Work on my bullet journal skills

You can see how busy my November was because I did not journal anything for the entire month!

Eat 5 fruits and vegetables each day + drink 96oz of water

I got off track due to illness, so I have no clue how many veggies or water I got in for the week.

Only three weeks left in the year!!!! Time to start thinking about 2022 goals. Boy time sure does fly. Did I mention Emma graduates in May?!
