What I read:
This week I have been reading a ton of historical romances by Laura Lee Gurhke. I have read her over the years, but just found a new series that I somehow overlooked, so that spurned me into rereading all of my favorites. She’s No Princess is my favorite one of hers, but the Girl Bachelor series is another favorite. **These are just for fun reads, but do have a few steamy scenes scattered throughout the book. So beware if that is not your thing!
Emma (16 years old) is read Circe and loved it.
Ben (8 years old) read Misty of Chincoteague and Miss Piggle Wiggle’s Farm. I feel like a terrible parent! I have been reading to my children for 16 years and just now discovered Misty of Chincoteague! It is a delightful story that captures the imagination so easily and it involves horses….what was I waiting for? He is so excited to read the other books in the series as well. Also, Miss Piggle Wiggle is always a fun read aloud for children. Talking animals and a little bit a magic make for an amazing story.
What I watched: Psych with the kids.
Blessings this week:
Our new cases of covid-19 are finally starting to go down thanks to the state implementing a mask ordinance.
Emma got a job a Cracker Barrel and is loving it. I have a feeling we are going to have a bleak winter, so I have been trying to make sure my extrovert will be able to have something to look forward to if other things get shutdown. Yes, it is work, but it is also a chance to be around people and that is what she needs.
If you know Emma, then you know she loves sign language. So I’m sure you can imagine her excitement when she was able to help a deaf couple at work this past week…she just shined when she recounted the story:)
Something I was happy to accomplish this week:

I painted, attached hinges, and finally hung up my kitchen cabinet doors. Let me tell you that was a lot of work, but since it looks so nice maybe it was worth it. **FYI: I felt the same way about childbirth.
-Oh and we managed to survive another week in this crazy world as gracefully as possible. 2021 has to be better than 2020….right??!!
Best things I saw on social media:
Emma about died from laughing recounting some of the comments…LOL…
Stay safe and try to keep on laughing!
