2020 Goals

Goal Updates for Week 5

1. Walk at least 500 miles this year (40 miles down and 460 to go)

I completed nine miles this week by walking and doing Bodyfit by Amy workout videos on YouTube.

2. Eat at least five fruits/vegetables every day

I did this for six days this week. I have discovered that baby spinach has absolutely no distinguishing flavor to me. This is surprising because cooked spinach is so flavorful. Very strange…

3. Learn Spanish this year

This week I did Duolingo for 60 minutes. I also am planning on printing out some Spanish worksheets that I found on the Rosetta Stone website to supplement my lessons.

4. Take a family outing each month

5. Have more family game nights

dd
This was my character The Queen of the Couch. She was being chased by an unwelcome suitor.

So far this month, we have played:

-a DIY Dungeons and Dragon type game that my son made up. It was interesting. Ben created six different characters for us to choose from and then made up six magical creatures that we would meet along the way in our quest. Each person had to add onto the story (that Ben began) and come up with a dilemma their character would face during their turn. Then each player had to roll a dice to see if their solution solved the problem (evens yes, odds no). Our trickiest problems were a drooling troll who was slobbering on everyone and a flatulent dragon that kept setting the forest on fire. Can you tell this was dreamed up by an 8 year old boy?

-Pass the Pigs *Ben beat us by a landslide.

*If you need ideas as to what games are fun for families here is a list of our current favorites.

6. Buy more used items and keep track of the savings

We didn’t make it to the thrift store this week.

Estimated running total saved by buying used for the year: $95**

**I am doing a rough estimate based on how much I could find the items on sale or on clearance at a store for…so its not a perfect guess, but close.

7. Finish my 2019 NaNoWriMo novel (~35,000 words) and publish it before November 1st.

13,696 words and counting…

If you want to check out my novel from last year it is Murder at Kelsey Hall and is free right now with Kindle Unlimited on Amazon.

8. Complete one home improvement or project each month

9. Make a spiritual checklist to do with my kids each month

For February, we plan on:

Attending one daily mass

Praying the Rosary on the way to mass

Going to an adoration

Going to confession

Cleaning the sanctuary
