1. Walk at least 500 miles this year (468 down and 32 to go)
With only five more weeks left in the year, I am doing great on my mileage so far (The fact that I only walked 6 miles last week didn’t really sabotage my numbers too badly! It was a crazy week).
2. Read two nonfiction or classic books each month
This week I am reading MacBeth and a book of poetry by Tennyson.
We found this great series of literature books called No Fear Shakespeare last year and have really loved them. If you feel like you are missing something when you try to read Shakespeare pick up one of these versions! I love how they rewrite the plays in a way that you can easily understand, but still give you the original text as well on the next page.
My daughter recited a Tennyson poem for her history class last week (and since we already had the book sitting around) I decided to read it before I returned it to the library. *Is it sad that I can only remember reading one of his poems during my entire sixteen plus years of schooling??
3. Have two family game nights every month
Not yet. We have got to get a move on!
4. Complete two home improvement or maintenance projects each month (one down)
The only project that we have managed to complete this month (so far) was taking apart our wood stove’s chimney and vacuuming out the intake valve. Hopefully this will help it to continue to run smoothly for the rest of the winter. **One year we had a ton of creosote build up and block the intake valve (I do not know the correct term!!) all the smoke came billowing back into our house at one o’clock in the morning causing the alarms to blare and everyone to jump out of bed thinking the house was on fire…good times…so we make sure to do this every year:)
5. Take each of my children on an outing by themselves every month
Not yet. But I am determined to do it this week!!!
6. Finish editing and publish my NaNoWriMo novel Accomplished!!
I released my novella, Murder at Kelsey Hall , earlier this month.
7. Try two new recipes each month
Not yet. However, I have grand plans to adapt this low carb almond meal biscuit into a blueberry muffin this week, so hopefully that will work well:)
Have a great week!
