1. Walk at least 500 miles this year (132 down and 368 to go)
I completed my 10 miles** this week by walking, taking a Zumba class, swimming, and trying out a couple new YouTube exercise videos. (**Not counting yard work!)
2. Read two nonfiction or classic books each month
Not yet.
3. Try to buy nothing new this year
I bought two new dresses this week (Belk has a lot of great clearance deals right now), but since I used my Christmas money it doesn’t count as a violation for this challenge. Thank goodness for my rules:)
4. Take each child on an outing by themselves each month
Not yet.
5. Have two family game nights each month
We played a couple of rounds of Old Maid this week (always a favorite for Ben)
6. Complete two home improvements each month
This month I am hoping to:
- Clean our house’s siding (it is getting a lot of mildew in random spots for some reason)
- Replace an older wood exterior door with a door that matches our current front door (which should be free because we kept our old front door when we replaced it with a more energy efficient door a few years ago)
- And maybe add gravel to our driveway
7. Edit and publish my NaNoWriMo novel this year
I got back the suggested edits from my friend at co-op (Thank you Ginger!) and now my first four chapters feel much more polished. I printed out the next four chapters and hope to start working on them this week.
8. Try out two new low carb recipes each month
This month I am hoping to try out mini-cheese ball bites and a very interesting Greek chicken gyro recipe I found on Pinterest…so stay tuned:)
9. Learn to knit and crochet
Not yet
10. Keep my grocery spending to under $500 a month
Here’s hoping it works this month…because it failed spectacularly last month…
