1. Walk at least 500 miles this year (413 down and 87 to go)
The weather has been beautiful so I walked almost all of my ten miles outside this week.
2. Eat low carb each day
I did this for all 7 days.
3. Read two non-fiction books each month Accomplished
The second book I read this month was The Grace Effect by Larry Alex Taunton. I really enjoyed this book! This book is about Larry Taunton and his family who have to navigate the corrupt adoption system in Ukraine on their journey to adopt a little girl. What I loved about this book is that it had a Christian slant to it and that Taunton tries to show how his family’s faith grew during this trying time and that God had a plan for that little girl all along. By setting the novel in a post-Communist (aka atheist) nation, Taunton shows the beauty of Christianity (and Democracy) by comparing it to all of the devastating effects that the Communists had on Ukraine and its people that continue to plague the country today. **A really cool thing about the author is that he travels around the country and participates in debates about Christianity with well-known atheists. I did not know that was a thing, but apparently he has a following.
4. Have two date nights each month Accomplished
We had our second date night this month this past weekend. We took a walk together and watched a few episodes of The Blacklist on Netflix together on the couch.
5. Have two family game nights each month
We only had one family game night this month because we decided to not go to the Renaissance Faire due to rain, but we did enjoy trunk or treating and pumpkin carving together…so that is something:)
6. Have one no spend week each month Accomplished
I am wrapping up my no spend week this Wednesday, so I am marking this one off early!
7. Try to buy nothing new this year
Nothing new was bought this week.
8. Add six new products to my Teachers pay Teachers store (4 down and 2 to go)
I finally found my groove on this goal. My best selling products are usually science related so I started to work on a new study guide for Flying Creatures of the Fifth Day and I am flying through it…finally.
9. $5 Weekly Challenge
I added beans and rice to my food bank haul this week. **I forgot to take a picture but this month I collected beans, rice, cereal, pancake mix, syrup, and macaroni and cheese to donate to a local food pantry.
