Goals

Weekly Goal Update for Week 42

1. Walk at least 500 miles this year (403 down and 97 to go)

Wow….I am super excited to break the 400 mile mark!!!!  This week I walked 8 miles mainly outdoors.  **Can you believe that we only have ten weeks left in 2018?!

2. Eat low carb each day

I did this for six days this week.

3. Read two non-fiction books each month

Meditations (Dover Thrift Editions)

I tried (and failed) to read two of the books I picked up from the library this week, but they were just soooo boring!  Luckily my husband has a nice selection of non-fiction books at home, so I picked out Marcus Aurelius’ Meditations to read this week.  I have always wanted to read this book because it is quoted a lot in many of the historical fiction books that I love to read.  **So far it is reminding me a lot of Musings by Mrs. Peggy Hill….if you have not seen King of the Hill…do so at your earliest convenience….and you are welcome:)

4. Have two date nights each month

One down and one to go.

5. Have two family game nights each month

One down and one to go. **I think we will be having a family outing in lieu of a game night this week.  There is a Renaissance faire near us that we plan to attend next weekend and Ben is excited to see knights and pirates!

6. Have one no spend week each month

I am planning on starting my no spend week on Wednesday….mostly because I procrastinated and I still need to buy a few things for Halloween this week….

7. Try to buy nothing new this year

Well I failed big time on this goal this past week, again due to Halloween approaching and our failure at finding the perfect costume pieces at the thrift store.  Luckily Amazon is well-stocked on costume supplies so my kids are happy at least.

This year my extended family is doing a Wizard of Oz theme for our church’s trunk or treat. My son is going as the Cowardly Lion, I am going as the Tin Man, and my daughter will be the Wicked Witch. (My sisters and their families will be making up the rest of the characters) On top of that, my son and daughter are doing another costume for their dress-up day at co-op, so I allotted them $20 to spend on both costumes. Emma chose to be Red Riding Hood and Ben is going as a Jedi Knight (mostly as an excuse to buy a light saber!) **I will share pictures as soon as we get things ready.

8. Add six new products to my Teachers pay Teachers store (4 completed)

I am procrastinating on this goal:(

9. $5 Weekly Challenge

mac

This week I added two multi-packs of macaroni and cheese to my food bank stash.
